Stories, Photos and Memorabilia shared by our neighbors

What life was like in our community
in the early days

This is an informal place for the residents of San Carlos to share, enjoy, and help preserve memories

Were you, or someone you know, an early resident of San Carlos?

I want to share your photos and memories.  Let me post your story and share your history in San Carlos on this site so that we can all appreciate and enjoy the nostalgia of our neighborhood in the 1960s and 1970s when our houses were new,  Leave it to Beaver was televised in our living rooms, and the first manned spacecraft arrived on the surface of the moon.

 How to participate

Locate your old photos or memorabilia from San Carlos in the 1960s and 1970s and call Becky Green (that's me).  And that's it! We can figure out together the best way to copy or scan your photos for sharing on this website.  I am happy to help.

Call me at 619-251-3447 or email me at

San Carlos Friends of the Library

I have been in discussions with San Carlos Friends of the Library (SCFOL) and one of my goals for San Carlos Gone By (SCGB) is to provide photos and other kinds of memorabilia for a possible display in our Library.  You can help us by sending anything related to San Carlos' early days...pictures, ads, stories, marketing materials for the Climax development....anything related to our beginnings. Thanks!
